We bet on in-person workshops
In an age of endless short-form video and constant notifications, the scarce thing is not information. It is a room where you can think, discuss, invent, ask a real question, and get evolved. So we run our workshops in person, host-led, on a big screen, with a small group at their own screens. A facilitator holds the room, demystifies the hard idea, and hands it to you to try.
In a review of 225 studies (Freeman and colleagues, 2014, PNAS), students in active, hands-on classes scored about 6% higher on exams, and students in lecture-only classes were about 1.5 times more likely to fail. That is independent research on active learning as a method, not a claim about letsgye.
Separately, a growing body of research links heavy short-form-video use with more fragmented attention. We treat that as an association, not proof of cause. It is simply why we protect one focused, in-person hour where the work actually happens.
