The whole series
Every week of Move and Measure
12 weekly sessions, each its own step. Built for ages 5 to 8. Every week builds on the last, so the learning is a real climb, not a set of one-off games.
Big and small, near and far
Compare and guess with your whole body: bigger, smaller, nearer, farther, and a first estimate.
Right angles (90 degrees)
Your elbow is a protractor: make and name the 90 degree L, then hunt right angles in the room.
More angles (acute, obtuse, straight)
The angle family: acute is smaller than 90, obtuse bigger, straight is a flat 180.
Turns and directions
Quarter, half, and full turns, left and right, and the word clockwise, felt with the feet.
Body shapes
A shape is a rule: triangle three sides and corners, square four and four, circle one curve, made with the whole body.
Mirrors and symmetry
Be a partner's mirror: two bodies making one symmetrical picture across the line.
The number line, walked
A step right is plus one, a step left is minus one, and landing on the flag is the answer.
Stack and count
Stack towers with a raised hand, count them, compare two towers: taller, shorter, equal.
Reach a target, estimate
Stop a tower at exactly the goal number, fix an overshoot, and guess sizes before checking.
Patterns and sequences
Copy a movement pattern from memory and predict what comes next by finding the rule.
A measuring adventure
The whole term in one rally: angles, shapes, the number line, towers, and patterns, and you practise teaching them.
Family Showcase Day
The children run the stations and teach their families the maths they own.
